PAC coordinator named to national fellowship program
Fernando Acevedo, College Coordinator for CAST STEM in Palo Alto College (PAC) High School Programs, has been accepted as one of 18 candidates for the 2019 E. Kika De La Garza Fellowship Program. The Fellowship Program offers faculty and staff from Hispanic-Serving Institutions the opportunity to work collaboratively with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to gain insight and understanding of the federal government. Through the fellowship, participants learn about opportunities that are available with USDA and other federal agencies for their respective institutions and their students.

PAC dual credit and TRIO student wins new car
Kyara Johnson, a senior at Southwest High School and participant in Palo Alto College (PAC) dual credit courses and TRIO Talent Search, won a 2020 Toyota Yaris from North Park Toyota on May 16. North Park Toyota selected Johnson from a pool of high-performing seniors with exceptional attendance and grades. In fall 2019, Johnson will attend the University of Texas at Austin to study art.
