PAC faculty published by Oxford University Press

Palo Alto College (PAC) founding faculty member Dr. Ralph Castillo received approval for publication from the editorial board of Oxford University Press. The title of his article is "Chicano Literature" and will be published in Oxford Bibliographies in Latino Studies. The Oxford University Press creates the highest quality academic and educational resources and shares the University of Oxford's standards, qualities, and belief in the transformative power of education to inspire progress and realize human potential.

 

PAC student earns scholarship to study West African language

Palo Alto College (PAC) student Gabriella Valdez has received a $20,000 David L. Boren Scholarship, which provides undergraduate/graduate students with resources to acquire language skills and cultural experience in underrepresented countries critical to national security. Through the award program, Gabriella will spend one year in Senegal (West Africa) to study the Wolof language and plans to pursue a career with the Central Intelligence Agency as a Science Technology and Weapons Analyst. Gabriella is the first student in PAC history to receive the award.
