Rincones Named Vice President for Academic Success

Dr. Cassandra Rincones has been appointed Vice President for Academic Success at 圣安东尼奥学院.

Before arriving at SAC, Rincones was the Hispanic-Serving Institution Director at Texas A&M University in 大学 Station, beginning in October 2022, where she developed and directed the administration of HSI grants and collaborated with college, 大学, and community stakeholders to meet grant objectives and track performance measures in accordance with grant regulations and program requirements.

She was responsible for advancing programs and initiatives related to HSI activities across the campus to ensure equity and promote a culture of inclusiveness.

2016年至2022年, she was the Dean of Social Sciences and Humanities at Lone Star 大学 in Kingwood leading instructional areas through planning, 实现, 和评估. She also collaborated with department chairs and other division deans to develop academic schedules that meet student needs and ensure that class loads are efficiently distributed. And she served as principal academic and budgetary officer for the division of Social Sciences and Humanities, in charge of a $3 million budget.

In 2022, she served as the Interim Vice President of Student Success at Lone Star 大学.

While at Lone Star 大学, she served at the Chair for Social Sciences and Humanities in 2016 and was an associate professor of history from 2013 to 2016.

She began her academic career as a history instructor at South Texas 大学 in McAllen from 2005-2012.

Rincones received a Bachelor of Arts in history and a Master of Arts in politics and history from Texas A&M University in Kingsville. She earned a doctorate in history, specializing in U.S./Comparative Border Studies, from Texas A&M University in 大学 Station. 另外, she earned a Higher Education Administration 领导 (HEAL) Doctoral Transcripted Certificate from Texas A&M University in Kingsville.
